Poverty and Plenty

You who live in mansions grand
And live on the best from every land
Your fellow man that's in distress
I beg you don't unduly press

The earth the lords and fullness thereof
Don't those words so foolishly scoff
But share out the fruits in a liberal way
Endurance has limits the wiseacres say.

When the poor ask for bread don't hand them a stone
Remember it cuts - cuts to the bone
The danger then, should history repeat,
Try some other, than blood in the street.

There's plenty for all, loads to spare
To hell with profit and dividend share
Remember the motto and what it doth teach
Each for all and all for each.
