Tibby and JohnOh Tibby frae the north had come, She southern John had met, Their notions were the very same, When they saw a hoose to let. A date was ready fixed upon, They pledged each other true, And mony a year has come and gone, But nane o' them need rue. Tibby was a thrifty lass, Her taste was hard ta' beat At baking cakes few could surpass, Her bairns kept trig and neat. John, no what he micht a' been, Tried his best to please, For Tibby was, his best frien', And that's no tellin' lees. They had their bits o' ups and doons, Just like ither folk, Life wi' pleasures mixed wi' froons, But ne'er a heart was broke. |
Notes"Tibby" was our Grandmother, John's wife. She came from Fochabers and lived to the age of103. ![]() [See Original Text P1] |
